Let’s Talk Windows

To continue on our spring cleaning series, let’s focus on windows! Windows can be incredibly frustrating to get the streak-free look.

When it comes to windows there are multiple ways to clean them, and each way has its pros/cons, I am going to talk about my preferred way to clean my windows.

When it comes to cleaning the windows on the exterior - I use the aquablade - which is an adjustable telescopic window squeegee, with a cloth attachment that you can use HOT WATER and a few drops of dawn dishwashing soap and get it really sudsy so when you scrub the window with the cloth attachment you can make sure to lift all the dirt off the window. Once you have the window all sudsy you can use the squeegee attachment to get them squeaky clean. Be warned too clean of windows may create a hazard for birds to fly into.

For interior windows - I like using the aquablade when I have time to really scrub, as the blade has a catcher that catches all the runoff from the suds. For when I am sprinting around fluffing my home to prepare for guests, I use windex and a microfiber cloth.

Don’t forget to scrub and wipe down the tracks of the windows, doors as you are cleaning. Vaccum first, scrub, wipe down, then vacuum again before cleaning the window.

Remember when it comes to cleaning windows, try not to clean when the sun is beaming straight at them, as they will dry too fast, and getting the streak-free look will become impossible.

Good luck friends! I believe in you!
